This small-group road trip takes you from Agadir across southern Morocco to the golden dunes of Merzouga, then over the High Atlas to Marrakech. You ride in an air-conditioned vehicle with a professional driver, and spend one night in a hotel or riad in Tinghir and one night in a luxury desert camp, with breakfast and dinner included both nights. Day 1: after a morning pickup in Agadir, leave the coast behind and head through the Souss Valley, past the ochre ramparts of Taroudant, and into the saffron-growing region of Taliouine. The road continues across the weaving country around Taznakht to Ait Ben Haddou, the UNESCO-listed fortified village, then through the Skoura palm groves, the Rose Valley and the Dades Valley to Tinghir for dinner and the night. Day 2: explore the dramatic Todra Gorge, then continue east to Merzouga and the Erg Chebbi dunes. Every guest has their own camel for the sunset ride into the sand, and there is time for sandboarding too. At the luxury camp you are welcomed with mint tea and sweet waffles before dinner and a night under the desert sky. Day 3: climb back onto your camel for a sunrise ride and have breakfast, then begin the long scenic drive west via Ouarzazate and over the High Atlas by the Tizi n'Tichka pass, arriving in Marrakech for drop-off. Good to know: a 1-hour sunset quad ride and private transport can be added on request.
