Agadir Cruise Port Schedule: Which Ships Call and When

The Agadir cruise port schedule is busiest from autumn to spring, when winter itineraries pair the Canary Islands with mainland Morocco. In our current calendar ships stay anywhere from five to fourteen hours, and those hours decide what you can realistically do ashore. This guide shows which lines call, their typical times, and how to read our live cruise calendar so you know your usable window before you book anything.

Which cruise lines call at Agadir

These are the lines and ships in our current winter calendar (November to March). The hours are typical patterns, not promises: individual calls can differ, so always open the page for your exact date.

Oceania CruisesOceania Sirena, Oceania AlluraSirena 11:00-18:00 or 08:00-18:00; Allura 07:00-16:00

AzamaraAzamara Onward08:00-14:00 or 08:00-13:00
Phoenix ReisenAmera, Amadea08:00-20:00

Three groups stand out. The German lines, AIDA and Mein Schiff, give the longest days, often fourteen hours alongside. Marella, the big UK line that used to be Thomson Cruises, sits in the middle with a nine-hour call. The premium and luxury ships (Explora II, Oceania, Regent, Azamara) tend to stay for shorter spells, sometimes only a morning.

When is cruise season in Agadir?

Most calls fall between autumn and spring. That is when lines run winter-sun routes around the Canary Islands, and Agadir is the natural mainland stop: it sits on the Atlantic coast of Morocco, a short sea crossing from Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. If you are weighing up one of those routes, our Canary Islands and Morocco guide explains what changes when you step ashore in Africa rather than on another island.

Our calendar currently covers the winter season. Outside it, check the hub for your date before assuming there is no ship; new calls are added as lines publish them.

How to read the Agadir cruise port schedule on our site

Every call in the calendar has its own page. Here is what each part means and how we work it out.

Arrival and departure

These are the times the line publishes, shown in Agadir local time. Arrival is when the ship is due alongside, not when you can walk off. Count about 30 minutes from docking to the cruise terminal gate, and more on big ships. That is why the earliest pickup on every page is arrival plus 30 minutes.

All-aboard time

All-aboard is the time you must be back on the ship, and it is earlier than departure. No line in our current data publishes it in advance, so the site assumes all-aboard is 30 minutes before departure. Your ship's daily programme, usually delivered the evening before, gives the real figure. If it is earlier than our assumption, fewer rides fit, so check it and compare.

The "rides fit" count

This is the number we work hardest on. A ride counts as fitting only if two things are true: it starts after the earliest pickup, and you are back at the terminal at least 60 minutes before all-aboard. "Back" means start time plus the tour's full listed duration plus 30 minutes for the drive back. For a tour listed as "2-3 hours" we use the upper figure. The call page then shows only the rides that pass, so you are never offered a start time that leaves you racing for the gangway.

Short stop and overnight labels

Some calls carry a label. A short stop label flags a call with a tight window, where few rides fit or none at all. An overnight label tells you the ship stays in port into the next day, which opens up evening options. Treat the labels as a quick signal and the times as the detail.

Alerts for your ship

If your ship is not in the calendar yet, or you want to hear when details change, use the free ship alert sign-up. You get a message when there is news for that ship.

What different hours mean in practice

The same calendar can mean very different days ashore. These are worked examples using our standard rules and the default all-aboard time.

Long call, 08:00-22:00 (AIDAblu, Mein Schiff 7). All-aboard is 21:30, pickup is possible from 08:30, and you need to be back by 20:30. That gives twelve usable hours. The 2-hour camel ride fits at 10:00, 12:00, 14:00 and 16:00. The quad bike and camel combination fits at 09:00, 10:00, 14:00 and 16:00. The camel ride with BBQ dinner fits at 10:05, 12:05 and 14:05 as a daytime ride with the meal; its 17:05 sunset start would bring you back at 20:35, five minutes past our margin, so we do not offer it on these calls. The Tamri beach horse ride at 15:00 fits.

Mid-length call, 09:00-18:00 (Marella Discovery 2). Back by 16:30, seven usable hours from 09:30. The camel ride fits at 10:00, 12:00 or 14:00, the quad and camel at 10:00, and the BBQ ride at 10:05 or 12:05 in daylight. There is no sunset ride and no horse ride on this pattern.

Short call, 08:00-17:00 (Costa Smeralda). Back by 15:30. The camel ride fits at 10:00 or 12:00, the quad and camel at 09:00 or 10:00, and the BBQ ride at 10:05.

Morning call, 09:00-16:00 (Explora II). Back by 14:30, five usable hours. The camel ride at 10:00 or 12:00, the quad and camel at 10:00, the BBQ ride at 10:05.

Very short call, 08:00-14:00 (Azamara Onward). Back by 12:30. Only the 10:00 camel ride fits. On an 08:00-13:00 call nothing fits; message us on WhatsApp for a custom plan, or spend the morning in town.

Other patterns follow the same logic. Oceania Sirena on an 08:00-18:00 call works much like Marella, with extra 09:00 starts for the quad and camel combination. Amera at 08:00-20:00 fits all four camel ride starts but no sunset or horse ride. For a full hour-by-hour plan, see our port day time plan.

Why cruise times change

Published times are a plan, and plans move. Weather at sea can delay arrival. The port authority assigns berths at short notice, so we never quote a fixed berth; whichever quay you get, everyone leaves through the same gate. Lines also adjust itineraries, sometimes weeks ahead, sometimes on the day.

We update the calendar as we learn of changes, but your ship's own announcements always win. If your times change after you have booked, tell us on WhatsApp. We move your ride to a start that still fits, or refund you in full if no time works. And because the ship does not wait for independently booked tours, our 60-minute margin is planning, not a guarantee: it exists to absorb traffic and small delays, not to stretch.

Times are local: ship time versus Agadir time

Every time in our calendar is Agadir local time. Morocco uses UTC+1 for most of the year but usually puts the clocks back an hour during Ramadan. The Canary Islands use UTC+0 in winter, so Agadir is usually an hour ahead of the islands you may have just left. Ships announce their own "ship time", and occasionally it does not match the shore. Go by what your ship announces for all-aboard, and compare it with the Agadir times on our pages before you set off.

Using the schedule to plan and book

  1. Open the cruise calendar and find your ship and date.
  2. Check the arrival, departure and the rides that fit.
  3. The evening before, read the all-aboard time in your daily programme and compare.
  4. Book online in about two minutes, by PayPal or card, in euros. You get confirmation by email and WhatsApp.
  5. The day before, we send the exact meeting point at the cruise terminal gate by WhatsApp. Pickup and drop-off are included.

Free cancellation runs up to 48 hours before the start time. If you are still deciding between the ship's tours and booking locally, our honest comparison of ship excursions and independent tours sets out the trade-offs, and the Agadir port guide covers the gate, taxis and shuttle. Line-specific advice is in our guides to AIDA in Agadir and Marella in Agadir.

Find your call

Open the Agadir cruise calendar, pick your ship and see what fits your hours. For most calls the simplest choice is the 2-hour camel ride to the Souss River at 18 € per person, with terminal pickup and mint tea included.
